++++ The expansive wall drawings of Anna Gudmundsdottir (born 1974 in Reykjavik, Iceland) consist of elements of anatomy and the media and touch on political topics as well as social and cultural themes. In the form of an oversized comic strip, they confront viewers in an ironically playful way with worlds and problems which arise from real as well as unreal sources. Oversized animals, emblematic signs, cartographic elements, fairy-tale-like beings and comic strip balloons containing slogan-like statements form a unity which is self-enclosed and at the same time open.
