++++ The artistic production of Anton Litvin could be seen as a mission to ask direct questions about art and its position in society, about the artist’s choice, etc. at a moment when to ask such questions is everything but fashionable. He is co-founder of the Escape Art Group in Moscow whose program is based on continuous modification of its social presence. One of the Group’s strategies, passionately appropriated by Litvin himself, is to invent non-spectacular events and situations in front of unprepared observers. The artist uses performative and actionistic practices forcing the inert surroundings to pay attention, to provide an answer and to get involved. For Manifesta 4 Anton Litvin has suggested a project, which insists that the public should literally look outside of the venue in order to find the art ‘items’ positioned in the real world.
