++++ Each of the following events have influenced my way of working: studies under Prof. Gyorgy Jovanovics at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest (1992-1994), a one year trip to Latin American countries (1995) and the first project done in cooperation with scientists, CLOSED REALITY - EMBRYO (1999-2000). ++++ Andreja Kuluncic’s projects are socio-political investigations referring to of transitional processes and heterogeneous starting points. The question concerning the social status of citizens after the economic transformation in eastern Europe has been dealt with by the project, NAMA: 1908 EMPLOYEES-15 DEPARTMENT STORES. The Croatian department store chain NAMA operated profitably in the period of real socialism. After the economic transformation, the department stores remained open despite empty shelves, the employees came to work each day. Kuluncic evaluated numerous interviews she had with the employees and in the public space in Zagreb she put up posters with portraits of them under the heading NAMA: 1908 EMPLOYEES-15 DEPARTMENT STORES, a reference to the problems of individual citizens as a result of the socio-economic transformation. At Manifesta 4 Andreja Kuluncic is showing on posters in public space in Frankfurt the results of a survey on the income gained by art of artists participating. (Meike
