++++ In his works, Kalin Serapionov explores the possibility of finding a place as an artist, a citizen and a subject, public and private, amidst a disperse and globalised contemporaneity. His oeuvre records in a subtle and critical way, via metaphors on communication, movement and dwelling, spaces of rupture and possible displacement within social and cultural conventionalisms at a point in time defined by acceleration and energy flows, yet also by the surveillance of all citizen action. In his work UNRENDERED, as the artist explains, ‘…the transitory and uncontrolled situation of overcrowded, open public spaces is captured and translocated into the closed system of a laboratory-like setting, where the unrendered, documentary material becomes an object of controlled observation’.
